Errr... What do you mean "only supports upto RedHat 9 kernel 2.4.20-8"? Both 2.4.20-8 and 2.4.20-18.9 are 2.4.20 kernels. They're in general the same kernel, only slightly differently patched (e.g. to backport the security fixes). Have you tried Clearcase with the newer 2.4.20 kernel? My guess is that it might just work.
