screensaver

How can I change the settings of my screen saver? It is driving me 
crazy, it just leaves my screen in blank and I have to touch any key of 
the keyboard (it is a laptop), it does not work by just moving the mouse 
or touching the USB keyboard, I have to touch the keyboard of the 
laptop... so where can I change those settings? cheers.
