RHEL is basically a 7.x release (.1 or .2 I think - can never remember
off the top of my head).  You can not simply pop in a RHEL distribution
CD and tell it to upgrade from RHL 8 - you'll need to do a fresh
install.

All those will need to be installed again, although I believe that Java
is part of the RHEL distro.  If the apps are on a separate partition,
you might be able to take some shortcuts, but it's also possible that
they'll need to be rebuilt against your new (older) libraries.

It's not going to be much fun to do fresh installs on all your systems.
I've got 9 to do this year myself...
