Paul, I don't quite know what else you have with that particular system, but I've completed putting together a server/workstation that was an Intel 233mhz w/256mb RAM and a PCI TNT/2 w/32mb of RAM that actually ran like a champ with RH 7.3 (optimised, tweaked and the likes). With the graphics card and the added RAM (along with three hard drives to load balance) I was rather surprised at the "snappiness" of the machine overall - and even though it was GOING to be used primarily as a server, it's being utilised as a workstation as well - does quite nicely for word processing and surfing whilst still being a file server (Samba, mail, intranet). -- Thu Jun 5 10:25:00 EST 2003 10:25:00 up 11:18, 3 users, load average: 0.74, 0.46, 0.22 ----------------------------------------------------------------- | __ __ |kuhn media australia | | /-oo /| |'-. |http://kma.0catch.com | | .\__/ || | | |================================| | _ / `._ \|_|_.-' |stephen kuhn | | | / \__.`=._) (_ | email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | ----------------------------------------------------------------- linux user #:267497 linux machine #:194239 * MDK 9.1 & RH 7.3 Mandrake Linux Kernel 2.4.21-11mdk Cooker for i586 ----------------------------------------------------------------- * This message was composed on a 100% Microsoft free computer * Don't assume that every sad-eyed woman has loved and lost -- she may have got him. -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
