Hit 'e' at the grub screen to edit your boot-up. On the line that loads the kernel put the word 'single' on the end of the line.


This is from memory to be honest, I have done it once so it does work. But it may be the number 1 at the end. I'm not sure. I'm leaning towards the word 'single' though.

Then I think it's 'b' to boot. Again not sure.

Have a look at the bottom of the screen. All the keys are listed.
