Hi all! I have a system with 1 Gig of memory. I have a Progress (similar to Oracle) database on this system. I want to optimize the shared memory for my database, yet I don't want to starve the OS. Question one: What percentage of the system memory needs to be available to the system? Question two: How does the memory size and segment relate to each other? Question three: What are the units for these values in the kernel tuning (Mbytes?Kbytes?Bytes?) they are not listed?
Please advise. Sincerely, David Langschied Langschied Consulting Services 25644 Mackinac Roseville, MI 48066 Phone: (586)777-7542 Cell: (248)789-8493 e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
