I'd be careful. Some packages (e.g. kernels) take slightly unusual
procedures. You can look at the errata pages and give those special
attention. Another possible snafu is the potential existence of updates
that depend on other (earlier) updates. I don't know if this is ever the
case, but if an update that starts with the letter a depends on an earlier
update that starts with the letter z, there will be hassles with your
procedure. Like I said, I don't really know if any updates depend on each
other like this, and maybe you'll get lucky.
