Once upon a time I decided to see if the experimental kernel (2.1.91 at that moment) differed from the stable 2.0.33. I safely compiled it as well as the modules, but I did not manage to boot with it! The booting process froze at the moment of kswapd starting. I wonder what could this mean? I never had problems with 2.0 series and even with an older version of 2.1 (like 2.1.65). I have not tested the latest versions (they must have appeared I guess), but still maybe somebody saw something like this ...
