You have to edit /etc/sysconfig/networks & /etc/hosts & restart ...

How do I set the host or hostname and have it stick on RH8? I orig had this connection up and running after install however since changing out the NIC and deleting/recreating the eth0 entry in the networking config tool I have had no luck reestablishing connection to the dhcp server.
