I would do an ls -l ezlm-* > /tmp/foo and do a vi /tmp/foo. The reason being that if they are as really messed-up as they appear you might have hidden characters in the filename. I have seen instances where you get control-characters in the filename that you can't see with listing the files on the screen. I would also try to find out where the files came from. Removing them is ok, but if they are part of a package(qmail perhaps?), this could present a problem down the road. You might also have to shutdown the service that is accessing them, fuser <filename> should tell you this.
If you are confident that they should not be there, you can always do an unlink <filename> if removing doesn't work.
