LILO must be Installed on either master Boot record of you first bootable
hard drive or on Linux's first sector partition.
So if you don't want to install LILO in either places you must use
LOADLIN (included in the DOSUTILS folder of the CDROM) to boot
while being in DOS.
If you installed from the Original CDROM read the manual
(i don't remember the page, sorry) which specifies clearly all this
