Hi all, The subject sounds confusing, so I'll break my question into parts;
1) We use a multi-user network with different computer systems (i.e. Linux, Sun, HP and Window$) and we can disable the shutdown routine on all of these systems for everyone except root (or Admin on M$) on all systems apart from RH. Anyone has access to shutdown the RH box when they are logged in to it. We run compute intensive calcs that can go on for days, and we really don't want to have them fail because someone has turned off the computer. My question is, how can I disable the shutdown/reboot sequence for everyone except root? (And yes, I know they can just press the power switch, but I'm looking at the accidental reboot, not the malicious reboot). 2) We use a number of login scripts, mainly because of our network configuration (access rights, protected filesystems etc) but they don't seem to run when we log in at the computer (through GRUB) or via an X emulator (Exceed, XThinPro Cygwin). Is there any way (and this may have already been answered) we can force these scripts to run on user login? Thanks in advance.
