1. You download and burn the RedHat CD images (CD 1-3 will do it if you
dont need the sources - I think you dont).
2. Create a 3-?? (your choice) GB empty space on your hard drive. The
linux installer can do it for you, but I think if you know some about
partitions, its better to do this by yourself..
3. Put in RedHat CD1, and boot from it.
4. Follow the steps.

After this, you will have a working Linux system on your computer.

For boot manager, you will be able to choose from Grub or Lilo. Both
will do what you need, but I am only familiar with Lilo. I prefer
installing it on a floppy (/dev/fd0) so your Windoze partition wont be
touched.
If you insert the floppy, you'll be able to choose, what OS you want to
boot in, if you remove it, you'll boot simply into Windoze like before
(of course you need to set the floppy disk to be your primary boot
device).
