I just installed RedHat 8.0 on a new system with a new video card, an
ATI Radeon 7500. Since I routinely do 1600x1200 at 60Hz on my monitor
with a Matrox G200, I assumed XFree86 would similarly work with the
ATI Radeo 7500. But it won't sync at 1600x1200. If I toggle into
1600x1200 mode using the hotkeys and run xvidtune -show (pre-typed so
I can just hit return since I can't see anything), I get a modeline
with the same dot-clock (175.50) as with the G200.

Any ideas on why this won't sync with the newer video card?

regards,

roland
