Hi all,

Two very quick and simple (I hope) questions for all you gurus out there...

1) We have a network with a number of Unix/Linux machines on it. We have
permissions set so that only certain people can access the HP machines (i.e.
it kicks you off if you are not allowed to log in to the machine) and we
want to set the same sort of permissions on the Linux boxes (RH8.0). The
only problem with this is that the linux boxes don't seem to run any of the
login scripts when you log in through the GUI. They will if you rlogin
through a terminal, but not if you go in through the GUI login screen. Any
ideas how we can get the scripts to work in all login modes?

2) Also, I have a stand-alone cluster running RH8, and I can't write to a
floppy, either as a user or as root. The error message says that the floppy
is a read only file system. It is a floppy created in Windows, but I can
copy things FROM the floppy, but not TO the floppy. Any ideas what I've done
wrong?

Thanks in advance

Andy
