The Remote X Apps Mini-HOWTO is on your computer if you included the
howto-html package in your installation. Read it:

    /usr/doc/HOWTO/mini/Remote-X-Apps

If you don't have it yourself, then go to the LDP for goodness sakes. If
there is a HOWTO out there as you say, it's pretty likely that out there
means the LDP, silly. LDP means Linux Documentation Project if anybody
doesn't know (?). Red Hat mirrors it at

    http://www.redhat.com/linux-info/ldp/

If you really need your hand held, the HOWTO is at

    http://www.redhat.com/linux-info/ldp/HOWTO/mini/Remote-X-Apps.html

ssh is maybe even better than xauth, security-wise; look at

    http://www.cs.hut.fi/ssh/

to learn about ssh. Get it (and lots of other good stuff) after browsing
Replay's web site:

    http://www.replay.com

That ought to do it for you.
