yes i've tried connecting directly to the printer.  unfortunately, no joy.  the KVM i'm using has two extra USB ports and acts as a USB hub primarily to do exactly what i'm trying to do, which is share all USB peripherals  through a switchbox.  its very frustrating.  usb is loading properly (i've got keyboard and mouse HID working properly) and dmesg says that the hub (KVM) is recognized and that there is a device (the only extra device is the printer) hanging on it.  it just won't recognize that its an Epson Printer.

I'm assuming you've tried going directly to the PC? Not through a KVM?

And I thought KVM were for Keyboard/Mouse/Monitor switching only? Not for
printer?
