While using underscores didn't cause a problem on our RHL3.0.3 DNS
server, I just noticed the RHL5.0 replacement I'm building up did
show error messages in the /var/log/messages file on all canonical
names which had underscores! I stand corrected.

I will be changing all the offending names in /var/named on the
old DNS server this weekend while everyone (except me) is gone. I
know Monday is going to be a busy day as everyone tries to change
their XTerm and NFS configs on their workstations to point to the new
names!
