Did you try running Xconfigurator and selecting the generic modes? This
should get you something, even if not optimal. Once that's running, you
can tweak it from there, or try using compatible (ha, ha) monitor and
video card selections.
I personally had trouble with MetroX causing video dysfunction so, you
may want to try another if it gives you problems.
