Probably not related, but version 3.1.4 of McAfee Anti-Virus for NT
Server or NT Workstation crashed the system when a non-DOS diskette was put
in drive A: (e.g. a MAC or SUN O/S diskette . . . or even an unformatted
disk.) McAfee released an interim fix (3.1.4a) and a few weeks ago
released 3.1.5 (or 3.1.6) as the official NT anti-virus product for NT.
This solved the problem. Maybe a non-"Microsoft" CD would do the same
thing. All this depends on whether you were running McAfee's anti-virus on
the systems that crashed. Otherwise, who knows?
Regards, Paul
