The sudo package[1] will be a help here. Once you get it installed, you
should stick the ezppp command into .profile files of all authorised users
(this obviates the need for an xterm to kick the command off in the first
place).

You could use expect in lieu of sudo, if you can tolerate root's password in
cleartext in a script somewhere.
