For Java: You'll need to create a symlink in your /home/<username>/.mozilla/plugins directory to /usr/java/j2re1.4.1_01/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so If the plugins directory doesn't exist for some reason, create it. You'll want to link other plugins there as well, like flash etc..
