Hi, I'm running Red Hat Linux 8.0, and have compiled the digi support into the kernel, when I try booting the new kernel, it hangs on the boot sequence where it starts to load the driver.
The kernel I am using is the 2.4.18-24.8.0 the one recently released by Red Hat. >From memory, the digi driver that is loaded from this kernel is 1.6.x. Reading the /usr/src/linux-2.4/Documentation/digiboard.txt and the digiepca.txt files say I have to append the digi or digiepca parameters to the kernel line, which I do as: digiepca=Enable,PC/Xe,Disable,8,320,D2000 but it still hangs on boot. I've tried both the digi= and digiepca= Going to the Digi site for inormation on how to do this, they make available a src.rpm file, and say to install that RPM (which contains driver version 1.5.x in tar.gz format) and follow instructions to seemingly include the epca driver in the kernel (even though 2.4.18-24.8.0 already has inbuilt support for it). I've looked for further documentation but unfortunately to no available. Can someone help please. Thanks. Michael. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
