I've tried out LyX a bit, and it seems to be a very good program. It also
comes with a lot of good documentation (a user's guide, a tutorial and more)
that you can open in the program itself. I think you should get the 0.12
version if you're going to try it out. I haven't tested any of the earlier
versions, but people seem to think that 0.12 is a lot more complete and bug
free. It's much smaller in size than any Microsoft product, and it won't eat
up all your RAM.
