Hi,
The first thing I would do is try to print using lpr from
the command line find out if you really have lpr working
and switched so it goes with the cups version of lpr and
not the LPRng version. I know I got CUPS to print the
test page and couldn't print with lpr at first I needed
to run
/usr/sbin/alternatives --config print
choosing cups changed to the cups version of lpd
I think you had to restart CUPS to get it to take effect.
Next can you print from any other programs? Then
you will know that it is really a problem with StarOffice
and the printer. Next I would try and print from StarOffice
to the default printer. Is the error message generated by
star office? lpr? or CUPS? it doesn't look like the error_log
messages from /var/log/cups/error_log if it is from star office
have you looked in the error_log for cups to see what it says
