I know I got CUPS to print the test page and couldn't print with lpr at first I needed to run /usr/sbin/alternatives --config print choosing cups changed to the cups version of lpd I think you had to restart CUPS to get it to take effect. Next can you print from any other programs? Then you will know that it is really a problem with StarOffice and the printer. Next I would try and print from StarOffice to the default printer. Is the error message generated by star office? lpr? or CUPS? it doesn't look like the error_log messages from /var/log/cups/error_log if it is from star office have you looked in the error_log for cups to see what it says Good Luck Linda Hanigan
