Kinda like you said, purely in the interest of comparing war stories:
yes, sometimes when stopping a page I end up crashing netscape. It
seems like it happens when the page in question is full of applets
though, so one of my theories was that it was getting stuck in the
middle of an applet, having its data cut off by the 'stop' button, and
not knowing how to dump out of there.
Or something like that.
