I modified the spec file to not use %{_mandir} and look directly in /usr/man and I finally got the thing to install. I am guessing that there is something with the perl install that was pretty severly modified by Mailscanner. That is a WAG. I could not find where Makefile.PL picked up the $(INST_MAN1DIR) value but it apparently is set to /usr/man/ sure enough [bhughes@mail1 5.6.1]$ rpm -V perl S.5....T /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/ExtUtils/Command.pm S.5....T /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/ExtUtils/Install.pm S.5....T /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/ExtUtils/Installed.pm S.5....T /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/ExtUtils/Liblist.pm S.5....T /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/ExtUtils/MM_Cygwin.pm S.5....T /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/ExtUtils/MM_OS2.pm S.5....T /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/ExtUtils/MM_Unix.pm S.5....T /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/ExtUtils/MM_VMS.pm S.5....T /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/ExtUtils/MM_Win32.pm S.5....T /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/ExtUtils/MakeMaker.pm S.5....T /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/ExtUtils/Manifest.pm S.5....T /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/ExtUtils/Mkbootstrap.pm S.5....T /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/ExtUtils/Mksymlists.pm S.5....T /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/ExtUtils/Packlist.pm S.5....T /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/ExtUtils/testlib.pm I Mailscanner upgraded ExtUtils and I am guessing that something got changed.
