I have two scripts (which I won't give the name of for security reasons)
that I would like to bring our modem internet connection up/down. They use
usernetctl to do this. I setup ppp via redhat's control panel to connect
if disconnected, and put cron entries in so that it would run this script
at certain times. Well, it used to work (only a few months ago, no big
upgrades since then) but now I'm on the net 24/7.

They look like this:
#!/bin/bash
/usr/sbin/usernetctl ppp0 up
echo The Internet Is Now Being Brought Up

Also, if I make this an account so that you just type a username and it
does this for you, it won't work. If I run the command myself, from the
command line, it works *sometimes.*

thanks for any help!
Chris
