two swap partitions

I have two swap partitions,
one on sda2, other on sdb2

if one of them sda2 is not listed in fstab, but sdb2 is in fstab
will the system see anduse only the swap in sdb2?

if neither is listed in fstab,
will thesystem notsee or use either swap partition?
