Now I see my old typo. Not only can't I type, it appears I can't (proof)read either. Or even see the my own typos when they are pointed out for me. ;) I'm in the process of actually downloading and installing the j2re-1_4_1-linux-i586-rpm.bin file now. My apologies again for the confussion. Copying from the terminal this time to avoid any chance of typo.... Get the old version out of the way. rpm -U would probably be fine. # rpm -e j2re-1.4.0_01-fcs # chmod a+x j2re-1_4_1-linux-i586-rpm.bin # ./j2re-1_4_1-linux-i586-rpm.bin # rpm -ivh j2re-1_4_1-fcs-linux-i586.rpm # cd /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ # rm libjavaplugin_oji.so # ln -s /usr/java/j2re1.4.1/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so Opening mozilla, and checking help->about plugins shows: Java(TM) Plug-in 1.4.1-b21 File name: libjavaplugin_oji.so Java(TM) Plug-in1.4.1 It appears to work as expected after testing only a few java applets. Just for the record, the plugin works if the link is created in either /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins or /usr/lib/mozilla-1.0.1/plugins - -- - -Michael pgp key: http://www.tuxfan.homeip.net:8080/gpgkey.txt Red Hat Linux 7.{2,3}|8.0 in 8M of RAM: http://www.rule-project.org/ - -- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+FlY0n/07WoAb/SsRAi3NAJ4vKg47Zxfg509RZNspdXvG1GGdAACdEYoF a+piAjuDG29/byzzwUN8jRM= =oFlQ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
