It seems that devices attached to the USB bus sometimes shift around between reboots. A drive that was /dev/sda1 becomes /dev/sdb1, and so forth.
Using 'cdrecord -scanbus' seems to do a reasonable job of telling me which device is which, but seems kludgey. How am I supposed to be determining which device is attached to which on the SCSI bus? -- "Of course I'm in shape!
