Learning vi is a good goal, but it is overkill for this task. You don't need to use vi if you are just trying to clear the file. 'echo > .bash_history' will leave you with an empty file without opening a text editor. - -- - -Michael pgp key: http://www.tuxfan.homeip.net:8080/gpgkey.txt Red Hat Linux 7.{2,3}|8.0 in 8M of RAM: http://www.rule-project.org/ - -- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+FCEnn/07WoAb/SsRAoiVAKC6v1voLPpyoWpaHg6FMLII/oXbVACeLnBT 8tXv1AqhbHEn26CvGumuuVo= =+6D+ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
