Hello.
I recently started setting up a network of all the computers in my house.
I have two on it, the one I am sending this one, a win95 box, and the
computer I am having trouble with, a Linux/Win95 box. Both computers have an
NE2000 ISA card, and both are found in Win95. This was fine for testing the
cable connection and all that stuff.
Yesterday (night), I started X and ran netcfg, like the NET-3-HOWTO told me
to, just like a good little boy. I configured it all, IP 10.0.0.1, and all,
and I clicked the Activate Button. That's when the shit hit the fan. It says
"Delaying eth0 initializaton". It says this on bootup too. I know nothing
about modules, do I have to recompile the kernel to get the NE2000 module to
load up, will this require a boot line option, or is there a file I can
specify this in. Also, is 10.0.0.1 a reserved adress?
PS. I have RedHat 4.2
PPS. I didn't install the kernel-source on install.
PPPS. I don't have enough room to install the kernel source.
PPPPS. I only have $100 to spend.
