It sounds like you have a wide SCSI drive with the regular wide SCSI
connector. There are other types of wide connection available, but the
68-pin version is the one used for internal, non-hot-swap drives. The pins
are close together, which I guess is why you describe it as high density.

I can recommend the Buslogic - sorry, I mean Mylex - BT950 wide adapter.
This is one of the cheapest wide adapters available, and is very fast. I
have two wide ones and a narrow one in my machine, and they run well using
the standard Linux driver; thank you http://www.dandelion.com/Linux/.

Regarding the cable, if you buy the kit (KT950) instead of the bare card
(BT950), you'll get the cable you need, but this is more expensive ($188)
than the card (BT 950) alone ($128). The prices quoted are the lowest
listed at the time of writing on http://www.pricewatch.com/.

Regarding compatibility with the Quantum drive, I have six wide Quantum
drives attached to my BT950's, and they all work very well indeed.

The latest BT950's also have some RAID capabilities: Check out
http://www.mylex.com for more details.

I hope this helps.
