Subject: How can I disable the password during boot up?

I'm a newbie to Linux/Unix and I can't get into the system. It starts
up OK I guess but when it asks for the password and login no matter what
I do it won't let me in. I press enter to bypass it (someone told me
this usually worked for him) it did nothing but ask for it again
anyway. How do I get around this damn thing? PLEASE any/all help will
be appreciated.

If it makes a difference I boot LILO from a floppy, Linux is on my F:\
partiton.
