I am looking into configuring my RedHat 4.1 linux using
Pine to send and read mails, and fetchmail to retreive them
from the popmail server at my ISP at regular intervals.

I am looking into the following configuration:
1) Using isdn to connect to the ISP
2) I do not want to keep ipppd running, I want to start it
before retreiving the email, and kill it afterwards
3) I want something like fetchmail to retreive the mail
(I must be able to use it in a script)
4) If I can not configure sendmail satisfactorily, I want fetchmail
    to deliver to PINE directly
5) My email name is different from my user name on my linux machine,
and this must be changed one way or another (in PINE's send
filter?)

So any suggestions are welcome.

The current work-around is using email with Netscape's Navigator.

Hans
