I use elm. It's small, and very quick. There are some good alternatives,
especially if you like MIME (I don't), faces, nice extras and so forth,
but elm is fine for my purposes.

elm can use its own folders but since you already have procmail, you
can write procmail rulesets to divert mail into separate folders auto-
matically. I tend to just keep stuff in /var/spool/mail/<username>.
Works just fine for me.
Offline editing? Well, you can do all your mail offline if you
wish. There's no big issue here - all mail that can't get sent
immediately gets spooled and will be sent out via sendmail the next
time you connect.
