proficiency with Linux is a big plus. So, there you have it. Linux
knowledge is a marketable skill. 8-)

The Remote Access System Integration Development team at Cisco is looking
for a few good men/women. Our mission is to design and productize system
solution for the high end remote access market. We design system capable
of handling over 6720 simultaneous calls. Our work has been instrumental
in propelling Cisco to a Remote Access leadership position (2nd place and
edging up). 

Below is a sample of our engineering activites. We will love to talk if you
have strong aptitude and interest in one or more of these areas.
  
  - dial system architecture design. We need good system architect to
continue design scalable, extensible, resilient, and optimal cost
architecture. 

  - component evaluation. We evaluate routers, switches, remote access
servers, T3 multiplexer, Web cache, and other components from both Cisco
and OEM. Ability to quickly research, learn, and scrutinize technical
merits of various components is a must.

  - devtest and performance analysis. Quality and performance is always
high in our mind. We have a highly dedicated test team with the most
advanced test technology in place for high volume call testing in the
company. But we must continue to advance the test technology to match new
R&D advancement. We need folks with strong test experience in the dial
area. 

  - technical market research. We stay competitive by working closely with
our marketing folks to understand emerging market forces and our
competitor's positions. 

  - customer, SE, and CA support. We ensure the customer is satisfied by
providing direct and indirect support. Most of our customer support is
accomplished by providing excellent training and support to the SE and CA
folks. Strong communication and teaching skill is very useful here.

  - configuration design and tool development.  Strong IOS configuration
skills on dial features is highly desired. 

An ideal candidate has:

- good grasp or highly motivated to research Cisco's product offerings
related to Dial Application.

- strong familiarity with IOS dial related features and configuration.

- analytical and ability to make good competitive evaluation on system
components.

- excellent communication and team work skills

These are senior staff positions and candidates must have multiple years of
relevant experience.
