Check /etc/logrotate.conf and the /etc/logrotate.d directory.
Since logrotate is ran by default daily using cron, you may also
want to check /etc/cron.daily/logrotate.
The above stands for the "when" part of the question. For
controlling the logfile sizes, you should adjust the settings
also according with your system's activity level.
