I have a floppy which I would like to mount read only automatically on
boot up. If I have the read only tab on the floppy set to writable, then
everything goes OK. If the floppy tab is set read only, I get the
following during boot up:

**************************************************************************
The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2
filesystem. If device is valid and it really contains an ext2 filesystem
(and not swap or ufs or something else), then the superblock is corrupt,
and you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock.

e2fsck -b 8193 <device>
**************************************************************************

What can I do to get around this? I've tried several different things in
my fstab, but I get the same results.

Regards,
Gary
