If you just want Linux and not a certain other OS that always comes
preinstalled then I'd contact one of the mail order vendors that
specialize in Linux machines. Look through an issue of the Linux
Journal and you'll find some vendors that will put together a Linux
box for you. I don't have any experience with any of them (and don't
know how their prices compare so I can't recommend one), but I'd
certainly check those vendors before calling Gateway or Dell.
