mount /mnt/cdrom
cd /mnt/cdrom/RedHat/RPMS
rpm -qip *.rpm >/tmp/rpmcontents.gz

You can alternately do 'rpm -qilp *.rpm' which will also list the files
within each RPM.

Try: 
  man rpm
