Where were you guys last week? I just bought a 6.4 Gig western digital
on Sunday. :( Oh well that is what warrenties are for I guess. I have never
had a WD drive go bad on me but my 3.2 Gig has been making intermittant noise
for a year. Drives me crazy but I see no errors or perfoemance problems. It
just sounds like it is eating itself up for about 5 min then shuts up,
sometimes for weeks, sometimes for hours. :( Funny thing about it is I almost
bought a Quantium but I just had one go bad last week so I decided to
go with the WD. Maybe leaving it up 24/7 and not having it spin down all
of the time will help. I am still not convinced that all of this power saving
stuff is good for the equipment, especially monitors.

Unix IS user friendly. It's just selective about who its friends are.
