I have no idea what has happened to our system. We use Redhat 4.2, SCSI aha2940 card, P100, 64 meg SDRAM, Seagate 4.2 gig HDD, Boca BB2016 16 port serial board, ppp2.2.0g static patched, mgetty1.1.12-Jan27, and kernel 2.0.33. And, our internet feed is coming in through a serial port on the serial board. I tried a fresh kernel install to see if it would fix this problem, but it didn't do squat. I have gone through all our settings, and they all are the same as they were when it was working fine (and no, adding static IP support didn't do this, it was having this problem before I added it). The server is working fine in regardes to talking with the internet by itself. eg. I can ping any host and ftp out to sites, web works fine aswell, etc. etc..... while at the console or in a telnet session. The problem is the dialin clients not having a constant route through our server (or rather our server not constantly routing the packets) to access other hosts on the internet. They have full access to all provided services on the server they are dialed into though. They have access to internet resources aswell, but it is "very" lagged, sometimes to the point of wanting to puke. I have our DNS servers automatically assigned to the clients - that's working fine, AutoPPP is setup and working fine aswell as the patch for static IP assignment, and the kernel has ipforwarding enabled. Like I said it was working fine until about a week ago. The following is what the kernel is outputting after issuing 'dmesg'. Hence the reason I tried the fresh kernel. ppp: write frame, count = 8 FF 03 00 2D 1B F1 FA 67 ...-...g ppp_dev_xmit_lower: fcs is 900f ppp_dev_xmit: writing 8 chars ppp: receive frame, count = 15 FF 03 00 2D 2E B6 B0 00 ...-.... No matter how small, unimportant, stupid you may think your idea is, Pleas throw it in here. HELP!
