By "nail them to the floor", do you mean something other than 111 for
~user/bin/ls ?  And how does ownership play a part?  I've got root.daemon
for ~user/bin and root.bin for ~user/bin/ls as per the wu-ftpd HOWTO.  I'm
sure I've forked something up somewhere, but I can't figure out what...
