The real statment here should be Linux will do things windoze can/will NEVER
do. If you do not mind windoze's limitations go for it. I personally need to
get things done that no matter how much money you spend on win95 if
just cannot do. Linux does this stuff off the shelf. For ex: try to
run a firewall or do ip masq on win95. It cannot as far as I know be done
even if I am wrong about this it will for sure cost MORE money.
For that matter M$ has said in a yr or 2 win 9X will be dead and everyone
will have to go to NT. How much will that cost you. I do alot of awk things
sure you can get awk for windoze but it will cost MORE money.
Besides Like you said above it sure is a lot more fun. Try to get 110+ days of
uptime from ANY windoze system.

Unix IS user friendly. It's just selective about who its friends are.
