What version of NT are you running? If it is NT 4.0 *with* SP3, then be
aware that SP3 added encryption to passwords--which older versions of samba
do not support. If this is the situation, there are two solutions:
1) Modify a registry setting in every NT client which connects via Samba.
This registry setting disables password encryption between the NT client and
samba server.
2) Update your samba to the latest release which has support for password
encryption (this is what I'm using and it works great).
There should be info on both these avenues at

|Subject: Samba and WinNT
|
|
|I have set up a samba server on my home linux machine with the hope of
|logging in and sharing my home files from my WinNT machine at work. I am
|having a little trouble. I can go from the linux box to the NT box without
|any problems, samba works fine. But when I go from WinNT to linux I get
|error messages on the NT box, such as:
|
|"This account is not authorized to login from this station."
|
|Any ideas??
|
|Thanks,
