Rather than rc.local, you _could_ modify....
[root@firewall /root]# cat /etc/sysconfig/network
NETWORKING=yes
FORWARD_IPV4=yes <==== Change THIS from
"no".
HOSTNAME=firewall.internal.bgcorp.com
DOMAINNAME=internal.bgcorp.com
# GATEWAY=
# GATEWAYDEV=
