I'm about to upgrade my current box and had a question re: what it should
be. Short intro: I've got a 166 pentium w/ 80mb's of ram and just about
always have netscape open, a nice background picture (32bpp), can often be
found compiling stuff, and do a lot of work w/ the gimp (and sometimes
play quakeworld). I have enough money to either add a 2nd cpu or another
64mb's of ram (not enough to go scsi, and I have a mill II video card so
it's plenty speedy). So, my question is <grin>, do ya'll think adding the
64mb of ram or the 2nd cpu would be more beneficial? How well would single
threaded apps (something like a gimp filter I'm thinking) be speed up w/
2.1.x on a smp system? I know that when compiling and surfing, and maybe
gimp'ing it would really help, but what about (I assume) single thread
stuff like gimp or quake?

Also, I've heard lots of AccelX...on a Millennium II does AccelX go *that*
much faster than XFree? This would cost as much as the other options, and
I wouldn't think it'd help as much, but...

Thanks for any comments!!
Chris
