Hello All, I'm having some problems with a RH5.1 system using an Adaptec 7880 controller. I use this machine as a Samba server for a group of 95 machines. Any time I put the machine under any kind of file transfer load (above about 2mb/sec) I see what is apparently the SCSI resetting, causing major delays and overflow. The messages that appear amount to the following(with differing hex values and Write/Read operation): scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 40843, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Read (10) 00 00 35 c5 f5 00 00 02 00 (scsi0:0:0:0) Commands queued exceeds queue depth, active=255 The second message happens maybe 1/5 as often as the others. I'm relatively confident that this is not a hardware problem as everything behaves well otherwise and all cabling etc. look to be in order. This machine has been used in past incarnations as both a RH5.0 box and an NT server without this kind of problem. Any light that any of you might be able to shed on this one will be most appreciated... js * Jason Scherbarth * Extreme Networks * (408)863-2842 Gigabit Ethernet? check out http://www.extremenetworks.com -- PLEASE read the Red Hat FAQ, Tips, Errata and the MAILING LIST ARCHIVES! http://www.redhat.com/RedHat-FAQ /RedHat-Errata /RedHat-Tips /mailing-lists To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
